Lou Martha Wackerbarth is a patent attorney trainee at Maiwald. Her work concerns the protection of intellectual property in the fields of biology, molecular biology and biomedicine. Her doctoral research in the field of biomedical research focussed on the functionality of cells of the innate immune system, particularly those of foetuses and newborns. As part of her research, she investigated the behaviour of immune cells in the human and murine system, gaining special expertise in the microscopic analysis of inflammation processes in the smallest blood vessels of mouse fetuses.

Lou Martha Wackerbarth has had her work published in renowned journals and has also presented it at international conferences in Germany and Europe.
