Spring Conference for Patent Experts OWL

On 10 April 2018, Susanne Heurung (Certified IP Attorney) gave a talk about three-dimensional trademarks at the spring conference for patent experts OWL by Miele & Cie. KG in Gütersloh. The talk was directed to patent counsels of mid-sized companies in North Rhine-Westphalia. Based on various recent decisions, for example regarding the “magic cube”, dextrose bars or quadratic chocolate bars, Susanne Heurung explained the restrictive practice of the German and European Courts for registering these trademarks.

The talk and the intensive discussion of the participants afterwards showed the importance of this topic in practice.
