The focus of the fifth of the successful series of seminars on the protection of new technologies was on the topic of patenting of software in Germany, Europe and Japan. Dr-ing. Sophie Ertl as host welcomed more than 40 invited guests in the Munich Maiwald office.
In the first presentation for the participants, Dr Simon Lud informed about the practice-relevant case law of the BGH and the EPO on computer-implemented inventions.
Mr. Akira Yamazaki, Japanese Patent Attorney and Australian Attorney-at-Law, gave a vivid lecture on “Patent protection for IoT business in Japan”.
The interested guests learned all about the patentability of processing and reproduction of information at the EPO from Dr Michael Rübsamen.
In a get-together during the breaks and after the event, the participants took the opportunity to exchange views and have a chat with a glass of wine and small treats on the office’s rooftop.
The guests gave consistently positive feedback. Here are some feedback of those who took part:
“For me a very informative event.”
“Compact overview, pleasant number of participants plus possibility to exchange was given.”
“Great event, I have been able to gain a good overview.”
