German and European Patent Attorney Trainee
Ph.D. Corrosion and material science
Roland Müller-Jena is a patent attorney candidate at Maiwald with a focus on the protection of intellectual property in the fields of mechanical engineering, materials and surface technology as well as machine learning and artificial intelligence. His university studies focused on material and alloy development, carbon fibres and nanomaterials. While working on his doctoral thesis, he expanded on this knowledge by researching the intercrystalline corrosion of 6000 series aluminium alloys used in automotive housings. Using high-resolution (S)TEM imaging techniques, he was able to prove the existence of a previously unknown corrosion mechanism of 6000 aluminium alloys in strong dependence on the deformation and stress state. In addition to developing his technical expertise, he also carried out research on machine learning and programming.
