Dr. Momo Yaguchi

Momo Yaguchi is currently a patent attorney trainee at Maiwald. Her work is focused on IP protection in the fields of chemistry, biochemistry and pharmacy.

During her doctoral studies at Hokkaido University, she investigated the mechanisms of electrocatalytic reactions on polarised metal surfaces using surface-enhanced infrared absorption spectroscopy. As a postdoctoral researcher at the Free University of Berlin, she spectroscopically investigated the activation dynamics of membrane proteins with near-infrared light, which is mediated by upconversion nanoparticles. During this time, she acquired extensive expertise in the fields of electrochemistry, nanochemistry, surface chemistry, biophysics and vibrational spectroscopy.

Her research works have been published in renowned journals and she has also presented her findings at international conferences in Japan, the USA and Switzerland, among other places.
