Matthias mainly handles the drafting and prosecuting of patent applications. His work includes responding to examination reports in pending proceedings before the European Patent Office and the German Patent and Trademark Office. His technical expertise extends to various areas of communications engineering, in particular wireless communication, optics, internet protocols, image recognition and artificial intelligence as well as classical aspects of physics and mechanics, such as sensor technology or energy storage technologies. Matthias studied electrical engineering and information technology, specializing in communications engineering and signal processing at the Technical University of Munich (TUM). While working on his master’s degree he was involved with drive development at BMW M GmbH where he dealt with emissions aspects of petrol engines. For his thesis, he developed a model-based functional environment for the real-time implementation of software-supported engine acoustics.
