Lukas Delvos advises universities, private research institutions, and companies in the pharmaceutical and chemical sectors on matters of German, European, and international patent law. He has extensive experience in drafting patent applications, obtaining patents before the German Patent Office as well as the European Patent Office, and managing global patent granting procedures. His key areas of expertise also include representing clients in opposition and appeal proceedings before the German Patent Office and the European Patent Office, as well as preparing freedom-to-operate analyses and validity opinions.
Lukas Delvos studied chemistry and biochemistry at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, complemented by international academic stays at the Université de Montréal in Canada and the École Polytechnique in France. He subsequently earned his doctorate at the Technical University of Berlin in the field of organic chemistry, conducting research in organic synthesis and catalysis. Through his many years of practice as a patent attorney at Maiwald, Lukas Delvos has also gained in-depth knowledge in other technical fields, including functional fillers, ceramics, polymer chemistry, and small molecule drugs.
