The European Patent Office will increase most of its fees by an average of around 5% as of April 1, 2024. The fee increase will be significantly higher for the 3rd and 4th renewal fees, which will rise by almost 30%.
Payment of renewal fees to the EPO is possible at the earliest 3 months before the due date. To save money, it would therefore be advisable to pay renewal fees due by June 30, 2024 before April 1, 2024.
